So we left to come over to Sweden this year for hockey. Johnny is playing in the Allsvenskan hockey league! We are very lucky and grateful to be over here this year for many reasons. We got to come here with our friends Evan and Maddison McGrath and their 2 dogs Hulk and Roxie! We have known Evan and Maddison for 3 years now! And I stood up in their wedding last summer as well. So it is so nice to be here in Europe with familiar faces! Another reason is because of the NHL lockout their even more people looking for jobs. Thankfully Johnny signed here in Oskarshamn in May! When we came over here we actually had to stay in Copenhagen Denmark for a week. Now we had a terrible travel experience over here. When we flew from Detroit to Frankfort there was a strike going on. Our flight kept on getting canceled. Finally after almost 4 hours we were on a flight to Copenhagen. When we landed we found out our luggage and dogs were missing. It was such a mess in Frankfort it took about another 3 hours to figure out where they were. We left the airport without anything. We were told to come back at 10 at night there will be 2 out of our 6 pieces of luggage  will be there. We were thinking that it was the dogs well more or less praying it was the dogs, and it was!!!!! So after that I was ok. I had my furry babies so I was good! The next day the luggage arrived! Johnny also had a preseason game there in Copenhagen! He then had to leave with the team after the game to go to an away game for the next day. So Maddison and I just hung out with the dogs in Copenhagen! The boys got home the next day pretty late. We then had to stay in Copenhagen for the 4 days. We finally arrived in Oskarshamn on September 11th. Then hockey season started right away! On September 12th was the home opener. Oskarshamn lost 2-0. The next game was the 15th they won 4-2 Johnny had an asst! The next game was the 19th Oskarshamn won 4-1 Johnny had a goal! the next game was the 21st they lost 3-1. The nest game was the 25th they won 3-2 Johnny had a goal! The 27th they won 7-3! The 29th they won 5-4 Johnny had a big game 2 goals and an asst! Now heading into October. On the 3rd they lost 6-4 Johnny had ans asst. 5th they won 4-2! On the 9th the Vigilante's came!!!!! They went to the away game on the 10th. Oskarshamn won 3-1 Johnny had an asst!  Johnny had a home game on the 12th they lost 2-1. We all hung out that weekend together. We went to a town called Kalmar on Sunday the 14th  It was a pretty cool town, there's a big castle that you can go into. It was really cool! Then on Monday night Oct. 15th Johnny had a road trip. It was weird. He hasn't been on a road trip for so long! He went pretty much up to the North Pole! There was even a little bit of snow on the ground. He had a game up there on Tuesday the 16th, they won 6-5 Johnny had a goal and an asst! He returned on Wednesday night. The Vigilante's went to an island called Gotland while Johnny was away.  They really like the town, it's on the Baltic sea and is known for being a mid evil town! I just hung out here in Oskarshamn with the dogs! On Friday the 19th Johnny had a home game and they won 2-1 ! We didn't do much that weekend. Just hung out! The weather is very hit and miss! Some days its  really nice, some days its just gray, some days it rains, and the other day it snowed! Crazy! So Tuesday the 23rd Johnny had a away game, the Vigilante's also went.  Oskarshamn lost 4-1. On Thursday the 25th they had a home game and they won 3-1 and Johnny had an asst! So today is Friday the 26th and Johnny has left for another small road trip. Oskarshamn has a game tomm vs Mora. He won't be home until like 3 am Sunday morning. So us girls are going to get together and carve pumpkins and get ready for the Halloween party on Sunday! Over here in Sweden they don't really celebrate Halloween so hopefully everyone enjoys their first Halloween party over here! So over all it has been great here in Sweden! Everyone speaks English ! The grocery store has a little bit more variety. Now the money is hard to figure out because it's the Swedish krona which is 6.6 times the American dollar. So I have to do a lot of math. For example 100 Krona is 16 American dollars! I also have a oven this year and 4 stove top burners! This is big because in Italy I only had 2 working stove top burners and no oven. I also have a big fridge and freezer. In Italy I had a mini fridge or my balcony if it was cold enough outside!  So that's all for now and I will try my hardest to better at blogging!

Well to say this post is way over due is a total understatement! Since my last post many things have happened. We spent until March 2012 in Asiago, Italy. We had many visitors last hockey season. We had the Vigilante's come for almost a month last October, We had our brother/brother in law Michael and his girlfriend Kathy come right after Christmas and to bring in the new year with us! We and our friends Chad and Andi Hanson come in January. We also had the Quines (my parents) come in March! So in the month of November last year I got to go to Florence, Italy on Johnny's break. We also went with his team mate Sean and his girlfriend my lovely friend Jenna and their dog Bear! I for the first time in years was home for Thanksgiving! It was so nice to go for a couple of weeks to be with family! Then in December shortly after I got back to Asiago, Johnny broke his thumb. He sat out for a couple of weeks, which was very hard for him to do. He played in a tournament in France a few weeks later, and went on to shatter his thumb. He then needed surgery when he got back from the tournament. It kept him out of playing hockey for another 6 weeks if i remember correctly. When he returned to playing in February he felt great and was back to himself. Only bummer is the team didn't do well. They finished in 8th  place out of 10 last year. Which meant that they played Brunico in the first round of playoffs. The team they beat in the finals the year before and won the championship. Now there was a big controversy that year because Asiago won a game by default. What happened was Brunico played two import goalies and you can only play one. So Brunico actually killed Asiago that game, but it counted as a loss because of the rules! So the next game Asiago won , and won in our arena and took home the championship in a double over time! It was amazing! Needless to say last year was a huge rivalry between Asiago and Brunico. But Asiago didn't come out on top last year. Brunico swept them in the first round of playoffs. It was a huge bummer.  My parents were in town though so we got to go to Venice with them, and also Rome! When we flew home the end of March that was the last time Johnny would play for Asiago. Unless the future holds him there down the road! Asiago, and Italy was one of the best things that has ever been in my life. I loved everyone who we meant. I loved learning the lanuage. I love that I learned many things about myself. I learned to drive a stick shift , and if I ever wanted to go anywhere I needed to learn how to drive the mountain, and I did! I loved that I got to ski the Italian side of the alps. You can get very lonely. But the things I get to experience I will suck up loneliness here and there. Now coming home we always have problems with the dogs....... The first year they told us we couldn't fly because our dog was going to have a heart attack. I told her trust out of all the things this dog can die from a heart attack isn't one of them.We went back to Asiago for 5 days, got better drugs for him, and flew home! Last year coming home was a breeze until we got to Germany..... I thought I was going to be detained because iI was out of the USA for longer than 90 days, but they ended up letting me go after 20 mins or so of questioning. Then we get to the gate and we get paged over the intercom. Johnny goes up to the desk and they tell him one of our dogs is sick and needs to stay over night. So he calls me over tells me whats going on. I must admit I wasn't very nice to the lady. I told her that wasn't an option. But They had to keep him anyway. I over drugged him. Ooopsy. Thankfully the airlines are very good with dogs and the next day Izzo was returned to us safe and sound! We had a great summer with friends and family. We also enjoyed our two nephews Aiden and Anthony! Summers defiantly go by way to fast , and before we know it we are headed to Europe for another hockey season!

Hi everyone!
I am so so so sorry I have been m.i.a . This has been a very busy month. My in laws come for 3 weeks! We took them to Lake Garda (which is one of my favorite places in Italy), Venice, and just around Asiago! They also got to travel to Florence this trip. The last week of them staying here my father in laws cousin and her husband (Carol, and Jo) came to Asiago! It was so nice to them here in Asiago. I also made the 6 of us Thanksgiving dinner one night. Johnny will be away in Denmark , and I am going home for Thanksgiving , so I decided to make a dinner for all of us to enjoy ! Now cooking in my apartment can be a bit of a challenge.........   I only have stove top burners. One of the burners is itty bitty so I barely can use it. I always find a way to make it work though! I believe it was one of my best dinners yet! I made everything from scratch. I made stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, carrots, salad, turkey breasts, and for dessert I made apples and pears in a carmel cinnamon sauce with vanilla gelato! It was amazing!!!!!!  This Sunday started a break for Johnny's hockey team. We decided to travel to Florence. We went for 3 days! We also traveled with another couple and their dog. We had so much fun! The first day we walked around pretty much the whole day! We ate at the Hard Rock Cafe! It was so nice to get American food. The second day was a blast!!!!! We walked around a huge market. I was looking for a black leather coat for a good deal and I found it!!!! I was so excited. Then we ventured to look for the Jersey Shore house! It took a minute to find and we found it! As we were taking pictures outside of the door this couple was walking in, so we asked them if they saw the Jersey Shore people? They had not a clue one what we were talking about. SO we continued to take photos and these workers we leaving the building for their lunch. This really sweet older man said to us in a super thick Italian accent "Jersey Shore"? We said yes! He said ok follow me! So we followed him in we were so pumped, my girlfriend Jenna and I were screaming of excitement. He told us to be quite about 10 times. Johnny and our buddy Sean were super stoked as well they just didn't scream like girls! The man told us not to take pictures so I didn't. Jenna on the other hand got some great photo's!!!!!! He even gave us plates that they used! We may sell them on ebay! But the man was so nice. He showed us everything. This house was huge. I couldn't believe it. So we feel like we were his first tour. Well we are telling ourselves that so we feel special. So as we continued on our day we decided to continue with the Jersey Shore theme and go find the pizzeria that they worked at. We found it and the boss that is on the show was working! So we met him and talked with him for a bit, we sat under the table where they put their clothes on the line. We got a picture with the boss. And they really did have amazing pizza! After we left there we walked to the bridge area, Jenna and I shopped the boys parked it at a bar. Later on that day we found the place where the Jersey Shore always went to called Astor. It was a really cool place! They boys decided to have dinner there , and Jenna and I didn't want to eat there. We ended up at this place right in the Duomo square and we ate outside! It was amazing food and a great location. Later on that night we met back up with the boys. We didn't hang with them to long..... let's just say we weren't on the same level as them. I wanted to go to bed pretty early..... we were getting up at 8 am the next day to go see the statue of Daivd. When we went to see the stue of David it was amazing. It was huge. I mean I can't believe how back then how he saw a huge marble and decided to carve David into it. And the detail uhhhhhh. I mean it was truly breath taking. I am so glad I went to see it. After we left the museum we went to climb 400 and some steps up top of the Duomo. It was a hard walk up those stairs but man o man was that worth it. The view of Florence up there was incredible. When we headed back down 400 and some steps I thought i was going to go flying down all of them. It was so small and in a spiral . We  ended up walking around some more. Our train wasn't until 6:30 so we had a ton of time to kill. By the time we got on the train I was so exhausted. I had the time of my life but i was ready to get home to my furry babies! They were so excited to see us. So that's what I have been up to. I will get back sooner next time. I won't go a month without writing!

Hi everyone! So since nothing too eventful is happening right now, I really don't have to much to say. The next big event here is the Super Cup which is on Wednesday. Its the first game of the year that matters and its against a rival team so it will be exciting. Also coming up on Friday is when the farmers move Hundreds of cows through Asiago and down the mountain, i will keep you updated then with lots of pictures! I It is quite a site to say the least!  The first regular season game of the year which is Asiago's home opener is on Saturday!! We have been here a month and i havent even seen Johnny play a game yet. So Saturday will be an exciting night, especially after Asiago starts out 1-0!!
Also right now there are 3 girls here, myself, Mindi and Sarah and im excited because there are two more girls coming for the year tomorrow :) I wish them safe travels and cant wait to welcome you to Asiago!! (and also the great wine here..!)
So as of now nothing to much is going on in our lives.... I did however come up with a genius idea.......... Since I am here in Asiago not doing a whole lot with my life. In a good way though that is :)! You know I wake at 12 ish, maybe go to the grocrey store, walk the dogs, clean , do laundry, and then I cook dinner. I have found a new love and that is cooking. I have always been a pretty good cook I would say. When I gave up red meat when I was 11 or 12 I had to cook a lot for myself. So I never really minded cooking my own food and trying different ingredients to make my food always better! Plus my parents weren't exactly the best chefs(not to be mean).  They had their specialties don't get me wrong. Here in Asiago the food is so fresh. It's pretty much all organic. So the food here takes flavor really easy. So whenever I get a really good response from Johnny, I have decided to share my recipes with you all! I hope you enjoy! On tonight's menu was a side salad, spaghetti, and fresh bread. Here was my recipe for the spaghetti!
Ingredients:
 Wheat Spaghetti Noodles
Plain Pomoddoro (marinara) Sauce
Basil
3 Garlic Cloves Minced
Oregano
Ground Turkey
Olive Oil
Pesto

Sauce
1- In a large sauce pan put 4 tablespoons of olive oil ( just enough so the pan is covered)
2- Add 1 1/2 minced garlice to the pan, along with a tablespoon of basil, and a tablespoon of oregano. Let the 3 ingredients cook for about 3 minutes.
3- Add anout 4 tablespoons of pesto
4- Add pomoddoro sauce. Stir everything together so it's nicely blended. Let this all simmer on low heat for about 15 minutes.  After the 15 minutes is up put a lid on and just set a side.
Helpful Hit: Over here the pomadoro sauce tends to be pretty thick and pretty acidic, so I add about a cup of water and a few sprimkles of sugar. That is just up to you and how you like it!
Ground Turkey
1- In a pan put 4 tablespoons of olive oil.
2- Add the rest of the garlic, add 1 tablespoon of basil, and 1 tablespoon of oregano.
3- Add the ground turkey and cook.  Once the turkey is done cooking add to the sauce. Put the sauce on the burner and put low heat. I usually let this all cook together while I am cooking the noodles, so maybe 10 minutes.

This is what I do for my spaghettii! Feel free to give or take! If you don't like garlic you don't have to add it! This is just what I do! I also go to the bakery here in town and get fresh bread! I do have a block of fresh parmesan cheese that I grade myself!  If you try this recipe I hope you enjoy! Till next time!
                                                                               Love Always,

So as I am sitting up at 12:48 am......... Johnny is already in bed, the dogs are out here with me. When all I can hear is the clock on the wall, a whistle from something outside that likes to go off every hour, and sometimes a neighbor. In my head there is so much I think about. I think about the condo that I want to buy , and everything that I would do to it. I already have every room designed in my head. I also think is it the best choice for us. I mean it has everything that I am looking for in a house, I even have a room I could potentially build a salon in! It is just a scary thing to do I guess. I can't even believe this out of the things I have done in my life is the most scary thing to me. I got married at 23. I have moved to unknown cities, a foreign country, I have skied the Swiss Alps on the Italian side. I have tried to talked to Italians when I barely know the language. For some reason though I get this feeling that this is the house for us! I hope that it all works out in the long run, and I will keep my fingers crossed that this house waits for us!

I also think about all the people I have known in the last year or two who have gotten pregnant, and had babies! I mean seriously everyone I know is getting knocked up! Now I can't even imagine my life without these babies in it! I can't believe how much joy they bring. One of my nephews Aiden, every time I would go over to my brother and sister in laws house and I would call his name he just smiles. He totally got to know who I was. He seemed happy every time I saw him! I was so sad saying goodbye. I was never really around babies all that much. I really didn't know how I would be with them. I surprised myself and felt this connection and deep  love with the babies who are now part of my life forever! You know the first question people ask right when you get married is when are you going to have kids? Even though to them it doesn't sound rude what so ever, it possibly can be. Think about it. What if they can't get pregnant, they don't want to have kids, they want to adopt, or they really are on the fence about kids anyways. I think carrying a baby for nine months is such a miracle...... why do people take that away from the blessing of getting pregnant. Maybe the pressure is in their head already. They don't need extra stress.  So the next time you think about asking a women, or a couple when are they going to start a family, maybe you should just take a second and think before you speak!

Hi everyone!!!!!!!!! I am so so so sorry I haven't been blogging lately! I was trying to redo this blog. I hope you all enjoy ! I haven't really been up to, to much lately! Last week was really nice! We had 3 new girls arrive here in Asiago! There was a super cup game for hockey last Wednesday. Asiago unfortunately lost the game. The first game of the season and home opener was last Saturday! Asiago won 4 to 1. We were also able to go out last Saturday which was soooooooooo much fun! Sunday we all met up at a place called the Mini Bar! It has a deck that we sat out on, and has an amazing view. Last week I did a 2 hour mountain walk. I always feel it the next day, but well worth it. On Tuesday Johnny, Sean, Anthony, and I went down the mountain to the mall, and to a really big grocery store . It's always a day event when you head down the mountain! Thursday Asiago had an away game in Vipiteno, which is a new team in the league. Asiago lost 5 to 6. Last night we just layed low. I made homemade Chicken pot pie for dinner.Anthony, and Jason  Johnny's 2 teammates also joined us for dinner! As for today I went to the market this morning, worked on the blog, made Johnny pre game meal, and getting ready to take the dogs for a walk soon! Asiago has a home game tonight at 8:30 our time so 2:30 back home! I don't really know if we will go out tonight but we will see! Sunday we don't have plans yet. We were thinking about going somewhere, but nothing is set in stone! I hope you all are enjoying your weekend!I will be better at writing on the blog I promise! Anything that I am thinking I will be writing I promise! Any who enjoy the weekend!

                                                                         Love Always ,
                                                                             Kayla

So this year coming to Italy was way easier than last year! We knew to pack, and   what not to pack. For example we knew we needed a few towels, some candles, Tylenol, and sweaters over tank tops! We also knew the process to get the dogs over here way better than last year. Last year I had to get all their papers USDA certified the day we flew out, which was in East Lansing. This year I had all the organized a few days before we flew out! Also we got drugs for them that worked perfectly. Last year when we were coming home from Italy the airlines wouldn't let us fly because Izzo our chocolate lab was going bananas in his cage, and they were afraid he was going to give himself a heart attack. So we now have drugs for them that make them sleepy! We arrived in Asiago on Friday August 26th. We got moved right in our apartment from last year. So it was really nice coming back to the same place 2 years in a row. We have never had a place 2 years in a row in fact we have moved about 11 times in 5 years! So it is so nice to have a familiar place and faces! When we got here we also had a car which is a stick shift. Last year was a huge learning experience with the car. One time Johnny had a game, and I was getting ready to go, and I didn't know you had had to lift up in the stick to reverse. I was in our parking lot for about 30 mins until this really nice Italian man helped me! Also this year we knew where the grocery stores are and the schedules of the restaurants. We figured out our phones right away this year. We got Internet right away this year. So it was a much easier adjustment needless to say this year versus last year.

Johnny already had a few games. He was in Hungry for a tournament last weekend. There record was 1 and 1. He had had 3 points! 2 goals and an assist. He also had a preseason game last night and they won 4 to 3! He had an assist last night! So he is off to a great start.

Today Saturday September 10th we are just relaxing. We are  hopefully going to tune in on some Spartan football! Johnny also has practice tonight.  We just got off of skype with Adam Henrich who we miss dearly!  So everyone out there who is reading this please also find us on sykpe! Our skype name is kjvigilante.

Hopefully I will head out for a walk with the dogs and 2 girls here Mindi Borrelli, and Courtney. We usually walk the trail everyday! It's an amazing walk with an amazing view. That's all for now friends! I hope this will be nice for all you friends and family back home who we miss so much! Eric, Lolo, Bill, and Renee please give our nephews Aiden and Anthony a hug and kiss for us!
